Single tickets
Check whether the route accepts payment on board, the accepted payment method and whether an airport or special-service fare applies.
- Carry a suitable backup payment method.
- Keep the ticket until the journey is complete.
- Ask where to validate or scan the ticket.
Multi-journey cards and passes
The product name alone does not confirm where it is valid. Check zones, operators, journey count, sharing rules and expiry before buying.
- Confirm whether one card can be used for several passengers.
- Check whether airport journeys are included.
- Use the current official terms rather than an old social-media post.
Buying and topping up
Use official shops, machines or operator channels and ask for the correct product for the journeys you actually plan to make.
- Keep the receipt when a reusable card has value.
- Check the balance or journey count after use.
- Do not assume every ticket is valid on trains and buses.
